Birth in the comfort of home
Many parents feel overwhelmed by rushed appointments, conflicting advice, and a system that can leave them feeling unheard and disconnected from their own instincts. If you’re looking for personalized care, greater autonomy, and a birth experience that aligns with your values, you’re in the right place.
Our holistic prenatal and midwifery care provides the time, guidance, and relationship-based support you need to feel informed, confident, and prepared throughout pregnancy. By choosing home birth, you can labor in the comfort, privacy, and familiarity of your own home. There are no unfamiliar routines or institutional pressures, only personalized, relationship-based care that honors your preferences and supports physiologic birth.
We believe the safest, most confident birth begins with trust—in your provider, in the process, and in your body’s innate ability to bring your baby into the world.
I chose midwifery care after watching The Business of Being Born movie as well as hearing from my friends who have had wonderful home birth experiences! Working with Aquarius Midwifery was the best experience I’ve ever had working with a health team – unending care and support! As a first time mom I had a lot of questions and I never felt silly or belittled when I asked, which is something I experienced when I was at an OB’s office. During the birth I felt so much love and support in the room. It really made all the difference and gave me the confidence to keep going when I was in really intense moments. Both Kathryn and Angela have such a wonderful calming presence!

Prenatal Care
Regular prenatal care is not just for assessing fetal well being, but for assessing how you are doing physically, mentally and emotionally. We are regularly checking in to ensure you are low risk, offering nutritional, herbal, and lifestyle suggestions to help you remain in our care, and making referrals to other providers as needed. These appointments also give us time to get to know you-to build trust as well as talk about what to expect during labor, and to plan for your postpartum.
We begin with a 60-90 minute appointment where we go over your medical history, talk about your previous birth experiences, and asses your physical well being.
Before 28 weeks we meet about every 4 weeks, and then every 2 weeks until 36 weeks. After 36 weeks, we meet every week until you have your baby. Each appointment lasts about an hour to ensure all your questions are answered throughly.
All recommended labs, assessments, and ultrasounds are discussed at length, including their benefits, risks, alternatives and how they may impact your care. Our goal is informed consent for all tests and proceedures and true collaborative care.
Labor and Birth Support
In early labor, we help you recognize the signs and provide guidance and reassurance. We offer comfort measure suggestions like positioning, breathing exercises, massage etc.
To manage pain, we support you with guidance non-pharmacological methods, including breathing and relaxation techniques, hydrotherapy (bath or shower), position changes, and acupressure or massage. We provide physical and emotional reassurance, to create a calm and supportive environment.
Throughout active labor, we are monitoring your progress by observing your physical and emotional state. We are taking your vitals and listening to your baby’s heart rate in regular intervals to ensure you are both doing well. As labor advances, we assess progress and are offering guidance in pushing-helping you find the best position to birth your baby.
Once your baby is born, we are keeping a watchful eye on you both to ensure all is well. We encourage skin-to-skin contact to regulate your baby’s temperature and promote bonding. We monitor for any signs of distress and wait to cut the umbilical cord until it has stopped pulsating and is white and flat.
We believe in the sacred Golden Hour of bonding after birth and do everything in our power not to break that bond.
Postpartum Care
At Aquarius Midwifery we believe that postpartum care is every bit as important as prenatal care! This is why our postpartum care is so comprehensive.
We come to you starting the day after you give birth. We then come back 1-2 more times in the first week and, depending on your recovery and care needs, 2-4 more times in the first 6 weeks.
We provide support around feeding your baby, space to discuss your birth, and perinatal mood disorder screening and support.
You have 24/7 access to us for any urgent needs.
Newborn Care
Licensed Midwives are authorized by the Medical Board of California to care for healthy newborns up to 6 weeks old.
We offer all regular newborn screening, exams and check ups that are recommended in the first 6 weeks of your baby’s life, all in the comfort of your home, and refer to your pediatrician or specialists as needed if anything is outside the scope of normal.
Investment
We offer our client’s a sliding scale of $7,000-10,000 – you choose your rate based on where you fall in The Green Bottle Method. Please reach out to chat about financial options – we want everyone to be able to have the birth they desire.
I knew from the moment I found out I was pregnant that I wanted to have a homebirth, I wanted to have a say in all things related to my birth and I didnt think that would happen in the hospital. Angela and Kathryn were wonderful to work with. Each appointment they really gave me time and space to share ANYTHING I was going through and never made me feel rushed or unimportant. They really cared about me and my experience. They always answered all my questions even when I texted them outside of appointments, I always got a quick response which was so nice! The appointments in the hospital do not even compare to what I got with these two ladies. They actually cared and gave me the time of day.
