Hybrid Care

Birth is not one-size-fits-all. Some families want to have a homebirth. Others feel safest in the hospital. Many want both individualized care and hospital access.

Hybrid midwifery care is ideal for families who want relationship-based, holistic prenatal care while planning a hospital birth. If you’re looking for longer, unhurried visits, personalized care, and extended postpartum support, hybrid care offers a balanced approach that honors both individualized midwifery care and the desire or need for the birth to occur in a hospital setting.

You don’t have to choose between relationship-centered midwifery and hospital birth. You can have both.

Pregnancy Support
  • Individualized prenatal schedule of appointments – your individual pregnancy risk factors and personal preferences determine how much you see your hospital based provider alongside our visits, and who is providing the “primary” medical care.
  • Birth preferences planning and informed consent discussions
  • Education on stages of labor and common interventions
  • Hands-on comfort techniques and partner coaching
  • Guidance on movements for optimal fetal positioning and pregnancy comfort
  • Ongoing text and email support throughout pregnancy
Labor and Birth Support
  • On-Call 24/7 support beginning at 37 weeks
  • Labor Triage and Monitoring – helping you decide the ideal time to go to the hospital
  • Position changes and labor progression support
  • Counterpressure, massage, and comfort measures
  • Breathing and grounding techniques
  • Facilitation of communication with medical staff
  • Emotional reassurance for both you and your partner
  • 1–2 hours of support after birth
  • Assistance with first feeding
  • Initial recovery support
  • Protection of bonding time
  • Potential for early hospital discharge with uncomplicated, unmedicated birth
Extended Postpartum Care
  • In-home visit within 48 hours after you come home from the hospital
  • Additional in-home visits 1-2 more times in the first week and, depending on your recovery and care needs, 2-4 more times in the first 6 weeks
  • Support around feeding your baby
  • Space to discuss your birth
  • Perinatal mood disorder screening and support
  • You have 24/7 access to us for any urgent needs
  • Well-baby care for the first 6 weeks so you don’t have to leave your home unless pediatric care is needed or desired

Investment

We offer our client’s a sliding scale of $6,000-9,000 – you choose your rate based on where you fall in The Green Bottle Method. Please reach out to chat about financial options – we want everyone to be able to have the care they desire.

I had a terrible experience with my first birth in the hospital with standard care. I wanted to be in the care of someone that aligned with what I wanted and believed in. With midwifery care, I felt heard and seen. There is less unnecessary poking and prodding and much more love and attention. I wasn’t able to have a home birth, but I did have a vbac! I didn’t give up and found strength and resilience that I didn’t have previously.
